5 Transcription Jobs From Home That Require No Experience

If you do a Google search for ‘Transcription jobs from home, no experience required‘ you can find several online companies offering the job.

I did the same search and found many companies that were providing the job. But a majority of them were asking for an experience.

I am sure you’re not up for that. So that’s why I wrote this post to list a few companies accepting job seekers even without experience. But before we begin, let’s discuss a burning question that many newbies ask.

Do You Need The Experience To Be a Transcriptionist?

Before I answer this question, let us first understand which experience we are talking about.

Is the experience related to working with transcription companies or working with transcription files?

If your answer is the first one, then it is not mandatory to have that experience. (if you can gain, it’s better). However, the latter is a must for applying for transcription jobs online.

That’s because while hiring transcriptionists, many companies conduct a few tests before selecting them. This is their way to check whether you are compatible with the post.

If you haven’t worked with transcription files before, you will surely won’t able to crack those exams.

For that very reason, it’s better to enroll in professional training to learn the skill from an expert, or at least practice it by yourself.

If paid training is not on your list, choose the second approach by googling practice tests online. To make things simple for you, here are a few websites where you can do so.

4. GoTranscript

GoTranscript website

I have previously worked on GoTranscript and, yes, I got selected having no experience. Though the pay is a bit less than other sites, it is still a great company to make extra money as a side hustle.

To get started, you need to fill in your personal information, followed by taking a transcription test comprising a short sample video. If you could pass the test, you can right away access the job board and get started with transcribing files.

Before choosing an audio file, you can preview each one of them, thus avoiding the bad ones. Once you finish the job, Editors will rate & review your transcript before passing it to the clients.

GoTranscript also allows you to access the final report to see the correction made by the Editor. Hence, you can see what errors you made, thus avoiding them in the future.

5. 3PlayMedia

Now, you may wonder why they provide transcripts from their software?

That’s because they want to make things easier for their members to speed up the transcription work & simultaneously maintain the quality as well.
